Nurses work in partnership with children, young people, and their families in various health and care settings. They support the physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people under their care. This involves assessing their needs, planning care, delivering treatment, and monitoring their health.
What do Nurses do?
Nurses develop strong relationships with children, young people and their families and carers. They carry out physical examinations and clinical assessments. Nurses monitor the child or young person’s health and wellbeing. They support families to manage different physical and mental health conditions both at home, in the community and in hospital.
How can Nurses help children and young people?
The nursing teams are committed to providing high quality, safe, effective, child and family centred care. They follow Government policies like Getting It Right For Every Child and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. They work in partnership with parents/carers, children, young people and other agencies to improve both the health and wellbeing outcomes and quality of life for individual children and their families.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Nurses

CAMHS nurses are here to listen, understand what’s going on for you, and work with you to find the best way forward. They’ll help assess your needs and make a plan together with you. Nurses can offer lots of support and always aim to understand your experiences in a caring, person-centred way.
