KIDS for Families

KIDS was NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Specialist Children’s Services (SCS) digital resource sharing universal and targeted information with children, young people (CYP), their families and other professionals working with them. KIDS was a person-centred, interactive resource that empowered CYP and those closest to them to self-manage their health and wellbeing needs. From launch, in 2018, until early 2024 the resource was used by families, education and health professionals in the NHSGGC area, then across Scotland and the rest of the UK. At it's peak in 2022 KIDS had 79,148 hits in one month.

In 2023, after some issues with functionality following the website being moved to a new server, it was agreed it was time to modernise and futureproof KIDS and the team began the move to the Right Decision Service. KIDS for Families was born, allowing SCS to continue to deliver public health information to support self-management and ensure that CYP get the right level of support at the right time.

KIDS for Families sits alongside the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow for Patients, Carers and Visitors and Happy Healthy Tots apps as well as the Children and Young People's section of MyApp: My Mental Health to provide information about health and wellbeing for CYP in NHSGGC from birth to adulthood.
