The Department of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine looks after children from Greater Glasgow and Clyde with complex respiratory disorders as well as providing support for children for children from the West of Scotland and beyond. The team consists of specialist medical and nursing staff as well as a broader multidisciplinary team including respiratory physiotherapists, dieticians and respiratory physiologists.
The service provides specialist inpatient management of tertiary respiratory problems, and on an outpatient basis provides general respiratory clinics as well as specialist clinics for children with Cystic Fibrosis; Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia and bronchiectasis; Sleep disordered Breathing; Neuromuscular and Neurodisability patients; Tracheostomy and Long Term Ventilation and Congenital Lung Abnormalities.
